Each box is designed especially for the learner receiving it, with learning activities tailored around their interests. We make a promise to our students that everything in the box is optional. They are free to explore the box at their own pace, choosing which activities to do, when and how to do them.
Tailored Learning
The activities in the boxes are carefully created to target each learner’s individual learning goals. Every step of progress is tracked against Functional Skills Criteria for English, Mathematics and Digital Literacy. A broad and balanced curriculum of foundation subjects and life skills learning is offered to engage students and prepare them for adulthood.
Delivered Weekly
Most learners receive a box every week during term time. The box is delivered to their door and everything in it is theirs to keep.
Designed With You In Mind
Distance Learning Boxes are ideal for learners receiving their education via an EOTAS/EOTIS package (Education Other Than At/in School). They are also a good option for learners who may be between education placements or on roll with a school but needing a short period of Alternative Provision. The boxes are designed with PDA learners in mind but are available to any learner aged 5 - 25 who would benefit from them. Costs are usually met by the learner’s Local Authority via their EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan). Each box is bespoke to each learner, providing a truly personalised education.
