This practical one-day workshop is particularly suitable for teachers and teaching assistants from mainstream and specialist schools and will include:
- What is autism?
- Practical strategies for supporting students with autism in the classroom
- Autism and student wellbeing
- Supporting students who display distressed behaviour
- Intervention taster sessions including Structured Teaching, Teaching Play, Teaching Social Understanding, Teaching Teamwork.
- Sensory needs and occupational therapy strategies
- Troubleshooting session
